FAQ

Your lift still should be serviced annually even if you no longer use the lift as this will prevent costly repairs needing to be undertaken if you ever decide you need the lift or if you decide to sell. A working lift in a property is a good selling point rather than a non-operational lift.
Your lift still should be serviced annually even if you haven’t had any issues with it to prevent major repairs needing to be completed in the future.
The new NBN is NOT guaranteed to work during a blackout. It is a legal requirement to ensure your lift emergency telephone is “safe to operate”. This means that the elevator owners need to install a new “compliant solution” prior to NBN installation in their area. We do have an option available for our customers to ensure that the lift’s emergency phone is operational when NBN is installed which is known as a gateway device. This gateway device is essentially a modem that is installed usually in your lifts machine cabinet and works by using a SIM card and aerial. The SIM will need to be supplied by the customer and can be their chosen provider as long as they have suitable coverage for the area. For more information about this please contact or Service Coordinator or see the Service Information page on our website.
Under the ATO ruling lifts that are built to comply with AS1735 Part 14, 15, 16* and 17 are GST exempt when needed for limited mobility/disable use. A medical certificate or statement would need to be provided.
