This summary is a guide only. The sections that follow set out the full terms and govern in the event of any inconsistency.

1.Warranty Period

1.1. Aussie Lifts warrants that each lift supplied and installed by us will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the periods set out below. All periods run from the date of practical completion and handover.

Warranty periods by lift model, covering the lift, parts and labour, the structure and the drive system.

Swift Pro, Swift Lite60 monthsIncluded in the 60-month period10 years, screw and nut drive system (clauses 1.5 to 1.7)

1.2. Structural warranty (Orion, Pioneer, Gemini, Phoenix, Electron and Mariner). The 10-year structural warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship in the load-bearing structure of the lift, being the guide rails and rail brackets, the car frame and sling, the mast, tower or free-standing shaft structure, the base and pit frame, and the structural welds and fixings in those components.

1.3. The structural warranty covers the structural integrity of those components only. It does not cover:

  • any non-structural component, including the drive system, motor, gearbox, controller, wiring, safety gear, doors and door equipment, cabin, finishes, glazing, cladding, panels and trim, each of which is covered only for the lift period in the table above
  • normal wear and tear, including guide shoes, rollers, bearings, bushes, ropes, chains, belts and consumables
  • corrosion, rust, oxidation, pitting or breakdown of any protective coating, and any environmental damage, including exposure to salt air, humidity, moisture, condensation, water ingress, flooding or the weather
  • any surface finish, including paint, powder coat, galvanising, anodising and plating, and any fading, chalking, staining, scratching or discolouration
  • structural movement, settlement, deflection or defects in the building, slab, shaft or supporting structure, and any misalignment or distortion of the lift caused by them
  • damage caused by the lift being installed or operated in an external, coastal, marine, wet or corrosive environment, unless we have agreed to that application in writing and supplied the lift to a protective specification for it
  • any lift that has not been serviced in accordance with section 2, or where water ingress into the shaft or pit has not been rectified
  • any component that has been modified, repaired, reinforced or re-coated by anyone other than Aussie Lifts or an authorised service provider

1.4. From the end of the 36-month period in the table above, cover under the structural warranty is limited to the supply of the replacement structural component. Labour, travel, access equipment and any associated building works are chargeable at our standard rates.

1.5. Swift Pro and Swift Lite. These lifts are manufactured by Swift Home Lifts Sweden AB and supplied and installed by Aussie Lifts as its Australian distributor. The warranty period is 10 years for the screw and nut drive system and 60 months for the rest of the lift, running from handover of the lift. The warranty covers defects in material and defects arising from manufacturing or shipping.

1.6. For the avoidance of doubt, the Swift Pro and Swift Lite warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear
  • oil changes
  • replacement of batteries where the lift has been used outside the guidelines set out in the user manual
  • any labour or travel expenses incurred in relation to service and maintenance
  • faded paint
  • damage caused by abuse, abnormal use, accident, alteration, or removal of parts
  • damage due to operation of the lift in a manner inconsistent with the recommended operation and duty cycle
  • damage caused by the use of an accessory or part that was not manufactured, sold or tested by Swift
  • damage caused by operation with oils or lubricants that are not suitable for use with the lift
  • corrosion, rust or environmental damage, including exposure to salt air, humidity, moisture, water ingress, flooding or the weather

1.7. Labour to repair a warrantable defect in a Swift Pro or Swift Lite is covered under section 4 for the first 36 months from handover. After that, cover is limited to the supply of the replacement part, and labour, travel and access are chargeable at our standard rates.

1.8. The servicing requirements in section 2 and the exclusions in section 5 apply to every warranty period in this section, including the 10-year structure and drive system periods. Where a longer period applies to a component, all other terms of this warranty continue to apply to that component.

1.9. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at the original installation address and is not transferable without written approval from Aussie Lifts.

1.10. This warranty applies to the following Aussie Lifts lift models: Orion, Pioneer, Gemini, Phoenix, Electron, Mariner, Swift Pro and Swift Lite. Lifts and other products not listed in this clause are covered by the warranty terms issued for that product, and this warranty does not apply to them.

2.Servicing & Maintenance Requirements

2.1. To maintain warranty coverage, the lift must be serviced in accordance with the Aussie Lifts Service and Maintenance Schedule, as follows:

  • Residential applications: minimum every 12 months
  • Commercial applications: minimum every 6 months

Note: Depending on usage, environment, or exposure to the elements, more frequent servicing may be required.

2.2. Servicing must be carried out by Aussie Lifts or an authorised service provider using approved parts and procedures.

2.3. Aussie Lifts may request evidence of servicing, including service reports or maintenance records.

2.4. Failure to service the lift in accordance with these requirements may result in the warranty being reduced or voided.

3.2. If a component is replaced, the replacement part will be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.

3.3. Aussie Lifts may require inspection or testing of the component before confirming warranty coverage.

3.4. Replacement components may be substituted with equivalent or improved parts where original parts are unavailable.

4.Labour & Access

4.1. Labour required to repair or replace a warrantable defect is covered when carried out by Aussie Lifts during normal business hours.

  • Structural movement of the building, slab, or supporting structure
  • Modifications or repairs not authorised by Aussie Lifts
  • Use of non-genuine or non-approved parts, lubricants, or accessories

6.2. Claims must include:

  • Lift model and serial number
  • Description of the issue

  • Supporting photographs or videos where requested

6.3. Aussie Lifts will assess the claim and advise whether it is accepted, partially accepted, or declined.

6.4. Claims may be lodged with Aussie Lifts Pty Ltd, 12 Achievement Crescent, Acacia Ridge QLD 4110, phone (07) 3274 4211, email info@aussielifts.com.au. You are responsible for your own expenses in making a claim under this warranty.

7.Australian Consumer Law

7.1. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The benefits given to you by this warranty are in addition to any other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods and services to which this warranty relates.

8.Limitation of Liability

8.1. To the extent permitted by law, Aussie Lifts’ liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective components.

8.2. Aussie Lifts is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, business interruption, or loss of profit, except where required by law.

9.Spare Parts Availability

9.1. Aussie Lifts guarantees the availability of spare parts for a minimum of seven (7) years from the end of the product’s manufacture date.

9.2. Where an original part is no longer available, we may supply an equivalent or improved replacement. Where fitting that replacement requires modification, upgrade or additional components to make it compatible with the existing lift, that additional work is chargeable and is not covered by this warranty unless we agree otherwise in writing.

10.Repairs and Parts Supplied Outside the Warranty Period

10.1. This section applies to any part, component, repair or service work we supply on a chargeable basis, including:

  • work on a lift after the 36-month warranty period in section 1 has expired
  • work on a lift we did not originally supply or install
  • work on a fault excluded from warranty under section 5
  • parts supplied to you, your builder or a third-party service provider without us fitting them

We call this Chargeable Work, and a part we supply as part of it a Replacement Part.

10.2. Parts warranty. Subject to this section, we warrant each Replacement Part as follows:

  • Supplied and fitted by Aussie Lifts or an authorised service provider: parts and labour for 12 months.
  • Supplied by us but fitted by you or a third party: the part only for 12 months. Labour, travel, access and diagnosis are not covered.
  • Reconditioned, refurbished or exchange units fitted by us: parts and labour for 6 months.
  • Third-party manufactured parts we on-supply: limited to the benefit of the manufacturer’s warranty we receive.

10.3. The period runs from the date we complete the Chargeable Work or, for parts supplied only, the date of supply.

10.4. Where a third-party manufacturer’s warranty applies, we will pass on the benefit of that warranty to you to the extent we are able to do so.

10.5. What the parts warranty covers. A defect in the materials or workmanship of the Replacement Part itself, and the workmanship of our installation of it where we fitted it. Labour is covered only where we fitted the part, and only during normal business hours. Section 4 applies.

10.6. What the parts warranty does not cover. The exclusions in section 5 apply to all Chargeable Work. In addition, the parts warranty does not cover:

  • any part of the lift other than the Replacement Part
  • pre-existing faults, wear or non-compliance in the lift, including where we have recommended further repairs or replacements and you have declined them
  • damage to a Replacement Part caused by the failure or condition of another component
  • consumables, including batteries, oil, grease, seals and light globes. Where a consumable is replaced as Chargeable Work, we warrant the workmanship of the replacement for 12 months but do not warrant the service life of the consumable itself
  • faults arising because the lift has not been serviced in accordance with section 2
  • attendance for adjustment, resetting or fault-finding where no defect in the Replacement Part is found

10.7. No extension of the lift warranty. Carrying out Chargeable Work or supplying a Replacement Part does not restart, extend, reinstate or vary the warranty for the lift as a whole. The lift remains outside the warranty period, and cover under this section is limited to the Replacement Part and our workmanship on it.

10.8. Attendance where no warrantable defect is found. If we attend site in response to a claim under this section and find that the fault is not caused by a defect in the Replacement Part or our workmanship, the attendance is chargeable at our standard service rates, including call-out, labour and travel.

10.9. Removed and exchange parts. Parts removed from the lift and replaced under Chargeable Work become the property of Aussie Lifts on replacement, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Where we supply an exchange unit, the removed unit must be returned to us within 14 days. If it is not returned within that time, we may invoice you the full non-exchange price of the unit supplied.

10.10. Parts supplied without installation. Parts we supply without fitting must be installed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with our instructions, AS 1735 and all applicable standards and regulations. We are not responsible for incorrect installation, and incorrect installation voids the parts warranty.

10.11. Returns are accepted only where we have issued a return authorisation, the part is returned within 14 days in unused and original condition, and freight is paid by you. A handling fee of up to twenty percent (20%) of the value of the returned part may apply. Special-order, custom-made and non-stock parts are not returnable.

10.12. Payment. The parts warranty is conditional on payment in full of the invoice for the relevant Chargeable Work. Section 12 (Payment & Suspension of Warranty Services) applies to Chargeable Work in the same way it applies to the lift warranty.

10.13. Limit of liability. To the extent permitted by law, our liability under this section is limited to the repair or replacement of the Replacement Part, and in aggregate to the price you paid for the relevant Chargeable Work (inclusive of GST). Section 8 applies.

10.14. Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Section 7 applies to all Chargeable Work.

11.Misuse & Operating Conditions

Operating the lift outside the limits specified in Aussie Lifts’ operating manuals, load ratings, or safety instructions may void this warranty.

12.Payment & Suspension of Warranty Services

12.1. This warranty is conditional on payment in full of the price of the lift and all other amounts owing to Aussie Lifts under the supply and installation contract, including any storage fees, interest and costs.

12.2. If any amount owing to Aussie Lifts remains unpaid after its due date (including the final invoice payable on commissioning of the lift), Aussie Lifts may suspend warranty repairs, breakdown response, servicing and any other attendance at site until all amounts owing have been paid in full in cleared funds.

12.3. Any period of suspension does not extend the warranty period.

12.4. Nothing in this section prevents Aussie Lifts from attending site, and we will use reasonable endeavours to respond where a person is trapped in a lift or a fault presents an imminent risk to the safety of any person.

12.5. This section does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where you are a consumer within the meaning of the ACL, any suspension applies only to this express warranty and does not affect the consumer guarantees.

13.Governing Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
