Swift Pro home lift in Fannie Bay, Darwin.
A Swift Pro in a Jet Black shaft with custom glass panelling and RGB lighting, in a Fannie Bay home in Darwin. Rather than hiding the lift away, this house puts it in the open and makes it one of the features of the place.

Project Overview
A lift made a feature, not hidden away
Fannie Bay, Darwin
Some owners want a lift that disappears into the walls. Others want it to be one of the first things you notice. This Fannie Bay home is the second kind: the Swift Pro stands in the open beside the front entry, in a Jet Black shaft with custom glass panelling and RGB lighting, so it reads as part of the design rather than a piece of equipment.
The black frame picks up the black framed glazing through the rest of the house, and the glass keeps the light and the outlook coming through. Upstairs, you can see the water through the lift doors. Inside the car, a Concrete Artwall and Stitch Black flooring keep things calm against all that black and glass.
We loved being part of this one. It is a good example of how far a Swift can be taken when the owners want the lift on show.

The brief
Make the lift a feature. Here it stands in the open rather than behind a wall, so the shaft had to look as considered as the black framed windows and pale tiled floors around it.
What we installed
A Swift Pro, the top of the Swift residential range, with a 1100 x 1400mm car. The shaft is finished in Jet Black with custom glass panelling, and RGB lighting runs along the frame, which is the coloured glow you can see in the photographs.

Steel or glass, to suit the house
A Swift shaft can be customised to suit your floor plan and ceiling heights, in honeycomb steel panelling or 10mm glass. Keep it subtle, or make the lift a feature, as the owners did here.
